February Birth Flower - Violet meaning

I picked classic Chopin music for this flower.
I always think of vintage postcards when I think of violets, since I have a few from my family’s vintage postcard collection.
I love how elegantly they wrote back then! I found a birthday postcard from year 1911 addressed to my great grandmother Blanche Stoller that reads:
“Dear Blanche:-
I wish you many happy returns of this, your birthday.
Lovingly,
Luly belle”
To help me practice, I first purchased real African Violets (only violets I can find), then I sketch using my grandpa’s mechanical pencil (written on it Russell Tyler), mix up the shades of purple and green paint.
I place these completed violet paintings and drawings in between lace pieces that were given to me from my grandma. They could of been made by someone in my family.
As I paint these I connect to my grandpa, grandma and great grandparents. I wonder what life was like back in 1911 and their struggles and joys.
